Toyota Kirloskar Motor is all set to launch the facelifted version of its premium hatchback, the Glanza, in India tomorrow. The Glanza, which is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, has been a key product for Toyota in the Indian market, helping the brand establish a stronger presence in the premium hatchback segment. The upcoming facelift is expected to bring a fresh design, updated features, and possibly new variants to keep the model competitive against rivals such as the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, and its own sibling, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

The Toyota Glanza was first introduced in India in 2019 as part of the global alliance between Toyota and Suzuki. Since then, it has undergone minor updates, but this facelift is expected to be more comprehensive. Spy shots and teaser images suggest that the new Glanza will sport a redesigned front fascia with a new grille, revised bumper, and updated headlamp clusters. The rear is also likely to get a new bumper and tweaked tail lamps. Inside, the cabin may feature a new dashboard layout, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and additional connected car features.

Under the hood, the facelifted Glanza is expected to continue with the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine, which currently produces around 90 PS and 113 Nm of torque. Transmission options will likely include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic. Toyota may also introduce a CNG variant, given the growing demand for alternative fuel options in India. The company has been steadily expanding its CNG lineup, and the Glanza CNG could be a welcome addition for fuel-conscious buyers.

In terms of pricing, the current Glanza is priced between Rs 6.86 lakh and Rs 10.00 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The facelifted model is expected to command a slight premium, with prices likely to start from around Rs 7 lakh and go up to Rs 10.5 lakh. However, official prices will be announced tomorrow. The Glanza competes in a crowded segment, and with the facelift, Toyota aims to attract more customers with enhanced styling and features.

"The facelifted Toyota Glanza is expected to strengthen Toyota's position in the premium hatchback segment, which has been witnessing intense competition. With updated styling and features, it should appeal to buyers looking for a reliable and fuel-efficient car," analysts say.

The launch event is scheduled for tomorrow, and Toyota is expected to announce the variant-wise pricing and availability. Dealerships across India have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the new Glanza, with a token amount ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000. Deliveries are likely to commence soon after the launch. The facelifted Glanza will also be exported to other markets, as Toyota India has been a key production hub for the model.

In addition to the Glanza, Toyota is also working on other product updates for the Indian market, including the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Innova Crysta. The company aims to launch at least one new product every year to sustain momentum. The Glanza facelift is part of that strategy and is expected to contribute significantly to Toyota's sales volumes.
