Top 10 SUVs July 2026: Punch, Fronx, Creta, Nexon & More
The Indian SUV market continues to surge, with July 2026 witnessing a robust performance across the top 10 models. According to the latest data from RushLane, the combined sales of these ten SUVs reached 1,27,365 units, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 18% compared to 1,07,000 units in July 2025. This growth underscores the sustained consumer preference for SUVs, driven by new launches, updated powertrains, and aggressive pricing strategies.
Maruti Suzuki emerged as the dominant force, occupying four of the top ten slots. The Maruti Suzuki Punch retained its leadership position with 21,456 units sold, a 14% increase from 18,820 units in the same month last year. The Fronx followed closely with 18,234 units, up 22% from 14,950 units. The Brezza secured the seventh spot with 12,890 units, a 9% rise from 11,820 units, while the Grand Vitara, though not in the top 10, contributed to the brand's overall SUV tally.
Hyundai and Kia, the Korean siblings, also posted strong numbers. The Hyundai Creta, India's best-selling mid-size SUV, recorded 16,450 units, a 12% increase from 14,680 units in July 2025. The Kia Seltos, its platform twin, sold 11,230 units, up 8% from 10,400 units. The Hyundai Venue, a subcompact SUV, managed 10,890 units, a modest 4% growth from 10,470 units.
Tata Motors continued its strong showing with the Nexon, which sold 15,670 units, a 16% jump from 13,510 units, securing the fourth spot. Mahindra's Scorpio family, including the Scorpio-N and classic Scorpio, registered 13,450 units, a 10% increase from 12,230 units. The Mahindra Thar, the lifestyle off-roader, saw a 21% surge with 9,780 units, up from 8,080 units, reflecting the growing demand for adventure-oriented vehicles.
One of the notable highlights was the entry of the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Victoris into the top 10.
