Hyundai Sales July 2026: Creta Leads at 18,088 Units as Domestic Dispatches Rise 23%
Hyundai Motor India reported a robust 23% year-on-year increase in domestic dispatches for July 2026, driven by strong demand for its SUV lineup. The company dispatched a total of 58,204 units to dealers last month, compared to 47,320 units in July 2025. This growth underscores the automaker's continued momentum in the Indian passenger vehicle market, even as the industry navigates supply chain challenges and shifting consumer preferences.
The Creta, Hyundai's flagship compact SUV, continued its dominance with 18,088 units dispatched in July 2026, making it the highest-selling model in the company's portfolio. The model's popularity has been bolstered by its recent facelift and the introduction of new powertrain options, including a turbo-petrol variant. Following the Creta, the Venue compact SUV contributed 12,450 units, while the newly launched Exter accounted for 8,920 units. The Aura sedan and i20 hatchback rounded out the top five with 5,310 and 4,875 units respectively.
Analysts attribute this strong performance to Hyundai's focused SUV strategy and its expanding rural network. "The SUV segment now accounts for over 60% of Hyundai's domestic sales, reflecting a structural shift in Indian buyer preferences," said a senior industry analyst. The company's diesel and CNG powertrain options have also found takers amid rising fuel prices, with the Creta's diesel variant alone contributing over 5,000 units.
| Model | July 2026 Dispatches (units) |

| Creta | 18,088 |
| Venue | 12,450 |

While exports remained relatively flat at 12,300 units, the domestic surge helped Hyundai post a combined wholesale of 70,504 units for the month. The company's production facilities in Chennai and Talegaon operated at near-full capacity to meet the demand, with the newly commissioned Talegaon plant contributing 15,000 units of the total.
"The 23% growth in dispatches signals healthy inventory build-up ahead of the festive season, though dealers remain cautious about overstocking," noted a market observer.
Looking ahead, Hyundai plans to introduce two new electric vehicles by early 2027, which could further strengthen its market position. However, analysts caution that rising competition from domestic players and potential input cost pressures could moderate growth in the coming months. For now, the company's strong SUV portfolio and expanding rural reach are expected to sustain its double-digit growth trajectory.
